Ensemble Intrada

Contemporary Classical Music should challenge conventional traditions, but not only serve as an experiment for projecting technical structures. New compositions are not an end unto themselves, they still fit for a particular purpose: To entertain an audience.

Intrada closes that gap between established conception of classical and experimental music. Diversity in playing technique and sophisticated constitution form an arc of suspense, attracting both experts as well as audiences new to Contemporary Classical Music.

INTRADA SPORTS A FLEXIBLE CAST

Character and acoustic colour

A comprehensive repertoire of contemporary compositions requires flexibility in tonal colour. Newly found works thereby can be tried out and rehearsed easily, making the composer's intentions accessible to the audience without necessarily paraphrasing too much, thus being clear in the interpretation.

ENSEMBLE INTRADA WAS FOUNDED IN 2012

GOALS

The primary intention was to foster and promote young talented artists. Over the course the ensemble developed the goal to create a distinguished portfolio by matching young artists with fresh and expressionist playing technique with contemporary compositions. Different geographic backgrounds come with distinct education, inducing a unique acoustic colour. Every member contributes her or his individual operating principles, learned from playing on various international stages. The ensemble's musicians are holding concerts world wide and work with established Austrian orchestras.

THE PIANO TRIO FORMS THE BASIS OF THE ENSEMBLE

CAST

Yet a flexible change of cast offers the opportunity to contemplate compositons from different instrumental perspectives so to introduce a new notion of sound. Events often come with different settings, so a piano trio or quartet might not suit the location - with Intrada's varying cast a string quartet or quintet can be set on stage easily.
